Vacation Week Ceramics Camp for Grades 6-9

This class will be taught by High School Ceramics teacher Taylor Byrne.  Taylor received her BFA in Photography and Sculpture from the University of Connecticut, and her MAT in Art Education from Tufts University. 
Taylor is a potter making plates, bowls, mugs, etc. out of her studio space at The Clay School, a working pottery collaborative in Lynn, MA. She can't wait to share her love of all things clay with more of the Swampscott Community! 


This 5 day ceramics camp will introduce students to several hand building methods as they explore the creative possibilities of clay! Students will also have an opportunity to try throwing on the pottery wheel and will create usable pottery of all kinds: plates, bowls, mugs, etc. Students will be encouraged to pull from their interests as inspiration for various surface design techniques. At the end of the week, we will load up the kiln with all the pieces students have created! 

This class will be held Tuesday - Friday of vacation week from 9-12 and Monday February 24th from 7-8:30
