Walking in Swampscott during COVID-19

Dear Swampscott Residents,
I thought it might be fun to help each other out with alternative walks around town besides Lynn Shore Drive. Although it is a beautiful scenic walk it has gotten a bit too crowded on sunny days  and it’s important that we continue to practice the social distancing that is crucial to helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
I know we have many neighborhoods in town that offer a nice walk so I am asking for your help.

I'll go first.
If you live by the water tower like me, this is a 1.25 mile walk with plenty of hills.
Start on the corner of Stetson Ave and Franklin Av. Walk towards Paradise Rd and take a left on Barnstable, take a right on Plymouth and walk towards the water tower to a left Worchester. Take a right onto Sunset Dr. Right onto Belleair. Left on Morningside. Left on Summit View. Right onto Sunset. Left onto Bristol which will bring you back to Stetson.

Don’t like hills? How about a walk through our cemetery? This is a great walk with no hills.

Please email me with your walk and I’ll post them all at the end of the week.
Alternate walks around town.
Jenn's walk:

Bay View Drive to Cedar Hill Terrace to Bay View Ave to Rockland to Redington, around the school/park, and back again - and you've got all the views.

Shorter:  Bay View Drive to Millett Lane, right onto Aspen, right on Sargent, right onto Ocean View, left onto Millett Rd.  A total circle, great views on the last part of the circle.

Sara's walk:
Banks Rd walk up the hill and take a left on Forest Ave heading down to the MS. Walk towards the Unitarian Church and cut through Ewing woods to Forest Ave Ext. Cross over Humphrey and walk down Puritan Lane all the way to Fisherman's beach. Walk down Fisherman's and then up Greenwood Ave for some cardio and hook back to Banks Rd.

This walk works best at low tide because then you can walk on the beach at Eisman's and Fisherman's. Takes at least an hour.

Ali's walk:Start where Humphrey meets Allen road. Walk down Allen to Summer and take a right and then a quick left onto Stanley. Take a right onto Crosman til the end. Cross over Humphrey and go down Bellevue to Beach Bluff Ave which will take you down to the water on Atlantic. Take a left onto Atlantic and a left up Seaview (good hill!).  Take a right onto Humphrey when you get to the top and you’ll be brought back to the corner of Humphrey and Allen.

Mary's walk:
I walk Essex St. to Loring Ave. After I pass Stop & Shop I bear right towards Paradise Rd. Cross Paradise at the 4 corners. Vinnin Sq.  Continue on  Salem Street. Turn right on Humphrey. Follow Humphrey to Orchard Cir. take left onto Nason Rd.Turn left  Onto Laurel Rd.

Right onto Forest Ave. Take Right onto Banks & Head towards Clarke School. About 4 miles.

Still need to see the beach? Please consider only going at low tide when there is more room -  you can check out the  tides with this tide chart.

Wherever you decide to walk please remember to keep 6 feet from one another if not with members of your own household.
Thank you and take care!
