Science Scouts! is a scientific exploration program for those entering first through fifth grade! Our socially-distant curriculum covers topics in chemistry and biology through science experiments, art projects, and nature-filled adventures right here in Swampscott. This program is brought to you by Marina Dreeben and Meredith Charney, both members of the SHS 2017 graduating class currently pursuing degrees at Brandeis University and McGill University, respectively. 

We are committed to providing a safe space for kids to explore the world of science. Due to current circumstances, we may ask that participants bring common household items (markers, scissors, plastic cutlery, etc.) as part of their very own lab equipment. As all scientists do, your Science Scouts will be encouraged to wear appropriate lab safety equipment (masks in the event that 6 feet of distance cannot be maintained) and avoid coming into close contact with one another’s experiments.
